My Top 10 Favorite Hotels in the World as a Luxury Travel Advisor

One of the most common questions I get is, “What is your personal favorite hotel?”

And the truth is, that’s nearly impossible to answer because it’s constantly evolving and changing.

Every destination offers something different. Some hotels pride themselves on the best sunset view over beaches with turquoise waters. And others are designed for full wellness immersions with farm-to-table food and the goal of being completely removed from everyday life.

After years of traveling, researching properties, and planning trips for clients with varying priorities, I’ve found that there are hotels I recommend over and over again. Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, anniversary trip, or bucket-list vacation, these properties consistently stand out and have made up my current ‘top ten’ list. And I’d love to know which ones you’ve visited and would recommend yourself!

My Top 10 Recommended Properties

Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa | Ischia, Italy

If I could bottle up the feeling of an Italian summer, it would probably look like Mezzatorre.

Set on the island of Ischia overlooking the Gulf of Naples, this hotel feels a bit like The Great Gatsby without feeling overly flashy. It’s built around a sixteenth-century watchtower and tucked among pine trees and dramatic cliffs. So, naturally, every corner feels cinematic.

What I love most is that Ischia still feels like a hidden gem compared to Capri and other popular destinations. All the perks are still there: amazing food, beautiful water, the thermal spas of course, and the full Italian energy. But without the overwhelming crowds.

Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel | Anguilla

Cap Juluca sits directly on one of the most stunning stretches of sand in the Caribbean, with signature white buildings, turquoise water, and a laid-back luxurious atmosphere.

This is one of those picturesque destinations that requires you to slow down. Beach walks, long lunches, and sailing excursions are a few of the typical to-do’s found here.

For travelers who want Caribbean luxury without a party scene, Cap Juluca is a must.

Casa Angelina Lifestyle Hotel | Amalfi Coast, Italy

While much of the Amalfi Coast leans colorful and traditional, Casa Angelina feels refreshingly modern.

Perched above the sea in Praiano, this adults-focused hotel is bright, minimal, and so so peaceful. The white-on-white interiors allow the views to completely steal the show.

I often recommend Casa Angelina to travelers who want the luxury of the Amalfi Coast but in a more refined sense without all the hustle and bustle of somewhere like Positano.

I’ve seen the sun set in a lot of locations, but the sunsets here alone are worth the trip.

Hermitage Bay | Antigua

Hermitage Bay is one of those properties that makes you completely forget what day it is (and be o.k. with it).

It’s located on a secluded bay in Antigua and is known for its privacy and incredible service. The suites are beautifully designed and tucked into lush hillsides overlooking the water.

It feels intimate, personal, and disconnected in every way you’d want in a trip. Clients consistently return talking about how relaxed they felt during their stay. And as a luxury travel advisor, that says more than any hotel amenity ever could in my opinion! I wrote about our personal experience at this resort here if you want to learn more!

Cheval Blanc St. Barth | St. Barth

Cheval Blanc is located directly on Flamands Beach and combines French elegance with Caribbean ease in a way very few properties successfully do so.

The service is truly unmatched. The design is beautiful yet not overdone. Every detail feels ultra intentional.

This is a property where the experience is every bit as impressive as the destination itself. I highly recommend for honeymoons and anniversary trips!

São Lourenço do Barrocal | Alentejo, Portugal

After Adam and I’s most recent trip, Portugal has become one of my favorite destinations to recommend. And São Lourenço do Barrocal is a major reason why!

Located in the Alentejo countrywide, this historic estate feels like stepping into a slower, much simpler version of life. Olive groves, vineyards, horseback riding, incredible food. It’s movie-like almost.

What makes it so special is that it feels deeply connected to its surroundings. It doesn’t feel manufactured or out of place. Just really authentic. And bonus points because it was a perfect spot to travel to with our baby Wallace!

Jade Mountain | St. Lucia

Few hotels are as instantly recognizeable as Jade Mountain. Its famous open-air sanctuaries overlook the Pitons, creating one of the most dramatic hotel settings in the Caribbean.

The architecture alone is extraordinary, but what makes Jade Mountain unforgettable is the feeling of being completely immersed in the landscape. The views are inescapable, really.

When I’m approached by a couple wanting a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon destination, this is always my #1 recommendation.

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort | St. Lucia

While Jade Mountain often gets the spotlight, Sugar Beach deserves attention too. It’s nestled directly between the Pitons making the setting completely spectacular. Guests can choose between beachfront villas, hillside accommodations, and private residences. All options are surrounded by lush tropical scenery.

I especially love recommending Sugar Beach to couples who want luxury but also appreciate having plenty of activities available. Snorkeling, sailing, hiking, and spa treatments are all options on property.

And that’s what makes Sugar Beach one of the most versatile luxury resorts in the Caribbean!

Saint James Paris | Paris, France

Paris has no shortage of incredible hotels, but Saint James Paris offers something unique.

Housed in a chateau-style mansion tucked away within the city, it feels more like a private estate than a traditional hotel.

There’s a sense of exclusivity that’s difficult to find in the hustle and bustle in Paris. After spending the day exploring museums, cafes, and shopping, returning here feels like escaping into a secret garden.

For travelers who have already experienced Paris once and want something beyond the typical city experience, Saint James Paris is always high on my list.

Chablé Maroma | Riviera Maya, Mexico

Mexico is home to countless luxury resorts, but Chablé Maroma consistently stands out in my eyes.

Set along one of the Riviera Maya’s most beautiful beaches, the resort combines wellness, design, and exceptional hospitalty.

What I love is that it manages to feel both luxurious and also grounded. You can spend your days at the spa, enjoying incredible dining, relaxing by the water, or simply doing absolutely nothing.

And honestly, that’s oftentimes the sign of a great hotel.

And that’s my list! If you’ve been to any of these and want to share your own personal experience, I’d love for you to reach out! And if I can help you plan a trip to any of these destinations (or anywhere for that matter), my inquiries are always open! You can reach me here.
